Everytime I watch a movie (and this is specifically true about Hindi movies), I have this intriguing doubt in my mind when we reach what we call "The End". I wonder what happens to the characters and their lives after the story has ended.
Do they really live happily ever after ? Do they quarrel ? Do they live the same lives ? With a typical mainstream Hindi movie, the story builds up to the climax. During the movie, events unfold at a livening pace. Characters act and react very quickly (atleast relatively speaking). So, does this pace slacken after the end ?
Someone should take all the stories, all the characters that have been immortalized in our movies (e.g. Sholay, Dil Chahta Hai, DDLJ) and just make a movie (or a documentary) about the lives of the characters after the movie. Sequels are just no good: they again go through the process of building up a story and it is just too tiresome.
